Tourism Scenarios for Arizona (2020)
In response to the overwhelming need to provide insight and possible solutions to the COVID pandemic, ASU tourism faculty lead a study using Arizona experts to create possible scenarios about health and the economy in the state. Using a scenario method and conducting the study using Zoom, top experts from tourism, hospitality, community development, health and mega-thinkers arrived at a list of COVID impacts and then organized these impacts around four scenarios. The study was led by Dr. Gyan Nyaupane, assisted by Ph.D. student Connor Clark, and tourism faculty assisted with the design, sample, data collection session, and report editing. The Center will conduct additional COVID studies in the upcoming year to assist the industry in the recovery.
A summary report of the research is attached and available online.
