TSA Fall trip highlights Lake Pleasant in fun filled day

Kayaking on Lake Pleasant

On a sunny Saturday, Sept. 30, a lively group of 27 Tourism Student Association (TSA) members set off for a day of adventure at Lake Pleasant. This stunning destination served as the perfect backdrop for an outing filled with discovery, learning and bonding.

With an action-packed start to the day, the members eagerly jumped into kayaks and paddleboards for an adventure with Go Paddle AZ, immersing themselves in the serene beauty of Lake Pleasant.

The fun continued with an engaging talk by Ranger Kevin Thorson, Park Supervisor Koy Mangan, and Pleasant Harbor Marina Manager Joe Evans. They shared fascinating insights into the lake's vital role in supplying water to our Valley and the intricate dynamics of its public-private partnership. This set the tone for an enriching learning experience that helped TSA members understand the significance of this natural resource.

This was followed by a tasty lakeside lunch at Dillon's Restaurant—a moment to recharge and connect. The day wrapped up with a "pleasant cruise" by Lake Pleasant Cruises, where Captain Matt Finney shared insights into the area's ecosystem and history. It was the perfect blend of education and adventure, strengthening bonds within the TSA community. TSA is grateful to all who made this event a success and is looking ahead to more experiences that combine learning, adventure and a love for our local environment.
