B.S./M.S. Accelerated Program

The accelerated B.S./M.S. program allows up to nine credit hours of graduate-level coursework to be taken as electives during the senior year which can be applied to both the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree.

Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management, Tourism Development and Management, or Nonprofit Leadership and Management along with a Master of Science in Community Resources and Development within 5 years. The accelerated B.S./M.S. program allows up to nine credit hours of graduate-level coursework to be taken as electives during the senior year which can be applied to both the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree. Students from all three of our undergraduate majors are eligible to apply after they have completed 75 credit hours. Transfer students must have completed at least one full-time semester (12 credits) at ASU. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (out of 4.0 ) over all courses (including transfer courses) to be considered for admission.

An official application to the ASU Graduate College is also required. If you are interested in joining this dynamic program, please follow the steps below:

  • Fall of your junior year, make an appointment with your advisor to discuss your plans of enrolling in the B.S./M.S. program. She or he will assist you in choosing the appropriate courses for the program.
  • Enroll in PRM or TDM 402 in the spring semester of your junior year.
  • Prepare for your GRE exam to be completed by February of your junior year.
  • Before March 1 of your junior year, you must apply to the ASU Graduate College.
  • The accelerated program requires appropriate advising.
