School of Community Resources and Development

Center for Sustainable Tourism

The Center for Sustainable Tourism is partnering with Mitch Nichols Group to develop a sustainable tourism plan for Sedona, AZ. The chamber, tourism bureau, and city are working together and the plan will feature a situational analysis of current conditions and available secondary data; a set of new research studies on visitors, residents, business, and other community stakeholders that asks questions on quality of life, sustainability values and practices, and growth opportunities and issues; and then finishes with tourism management and a visioning document for community consideration and implementation. The team includes faculty Vogt, Andereck, Nyaupane, and Buzinde and graduate student Pham.
