Arizona State University's School of Community Resources and Development advances the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of our local and global communities through instruction, research and service.

We provide use inspired research and experiential academic programs in the areas of nonprofit leadership and management, parks and recreation management, and tourism development and management. Each program shares an interdisciplinary focus, and a common passion for promoting the public good.

Pending final approval, we will be offering a new degree program in recreation and tourism management. Through the B.S. in recreation and tourism management, students acquire the planning and management skills needed to work in the growing recreation and tourism industries throughout the world. Selecting one of four emphasis areas including recreation, tourism, events or sports, the curriculum prepares students for employment across a wide variety of occupations. Students are able to gain professional positions in various recreation, travel, tourism, events, sports and related fields. Students will discover opportunities with community-based recreation services, recreation businesses, special event management companies, sustainable tourism, resort management, meeting and convention planning, or community sports organizations. All of these areas of emphasis allow graduates to contribute to community economic and social development and positively influence quality of life both domestically and abroad
