Dr. Claire McWilliams is an Instructor in the School of Community Resources and Development, teaching tourism development and management, lodging sector, and management courses. She has a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. She earned her PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University.
Claire worked as a manager and trainer for Doubletree Hotels Corporation before entering the field of education. For 18 years, she created, managed, and taught within a hospitality program at the high school level in coordination with local colleges and industry partners. She transitioned into full-time instruction at ASU in 2015.
In addition to teaching, Claire has helped to facilitate study abroad experiences for students to such places as Uganda, El Salvador, Fiji, Australia, and Botswana. She serves as faculty advisor for the Tourism Student Association (TSA) at ASU. Claire is a consultant, writer, and speaker for local companies.
